International Day For Persons With Disabilities was celebrated on Monday 3rd of December, 2018 with the theme “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equity”
Leonard Cheshire Disability around the world celebrated actively to promote this event by organizing different kinds of activities like exhibitions, special programs and conferences etc to draw the attention of the society and the community towards disabled issues and support them towards their difficulties and successes.
This year 2018, Selangor Cheshire Home from Malaysia (SCH ) celebrated this meaningful event along with the launching of International Abilympics Training for Year 2020 with the Malaysian Council For Rehabilitation ( MCR ). The two big events were celebrated at the Damansara City Mall with the presence of YB Tuan M. Kulasegaran, Minister of Human Resources Malaysia.
Selangor Cheshire Home President, Datin Paduka Khatijah Sulieman thanking the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia for his address and presence at the celebration. Also, we had our Economic Empowerment Programme students together with our guests during the event.
During the celebration, lots of handicraft products by our disabled residents and bakery products made by our Economic Empowerment Programme students and Staff were sold.

Meanwhile in Hong Kong, one of our Home branch Shatin also held lots of activities during 2018 and held many different kinds of programs to create awareness among the residents and public.
